About Me

Jenni Wolfson is a human rights activist, writer and performer.  Since April 2006, Jenni has been the Managing Director of Peter Gabriel's WITNESS, an international human rights organization based in New York, that uses video to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations.

Prior to joining WITNESSJenni worked for the United Nations for 12 years, including three years in Rwanda and two years in Haiti.  She investigated human rights violations, monitored abuses in prisons, and trained the military, police and judiciary in international human rights standards.  Jenni also trained staff from over 100 UNICEF field offices to respond to the acute humanitarian needs of children in armed conflicts and natural disasters.

Slightly different from Glasgow, Scotland where Jenni grew up.  Jenni speaks six languages, has an MA in Human Rights from the University of Essex, and much to the delight of her parents, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Strathclyde.   She studied acting at the Deena Levy Theater Studio.

RASH, an independent play, marks Jenni's writing and acting debut.  It is the true story of her life as a human rights worker in post genocide Rwanda.  Her performances have been sold-out at a number of different venues, including TEDx East, the International Edinburgh and NY Fringe festivals, 59E59 Theaters, and Harvard and Columbia Universities.
